You are new to town. And a tour is the best way to see more of the city!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Penelope: So, which tour are we taking \u2013 the one that goes through the city on a bus? Or the one that goes along the river in a boat?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Anna: Both!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Penelope: What? Anna, this isn\u2019t going to be one of those trips, is it?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Anna: No. Follow me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Professor Bot: In this lesson, you are going to hear lots of prepositions! What\u2019s a preposition, you ask? It\u2019s a word that shows relationships between things. Anna says they are going on a tour through the city and along the river. Through and along are both prepositions. Watch for more!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Anna: Well, Penelope, there\u2019s our ride!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Penelope: What is it?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Anna: It\u2019s the famous DC Ducks &#8212; the boat with wheels! We will ride on the road and then sail on the water!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Penelope: Who thinks of these things?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Anna: I don&#8217;t know. But I\u2019m glad they do! Let\u2019s get aboard, Sailor!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Penelope: (looking at a brochure about the boat) Hey, did you know that this bus \u2026 um, boat was created during World War II to carry people and supplies?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Anna: Wow. You know, a tour is so much more interesting with Fun Facts, like that one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Penelope: I agree. I love Fun Facts!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Boy: Did I hear you say you love Fun Facts?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Anna &amp; Penelope: Yeah.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Boy: Well, I have tons of Fun Facts for this tour!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Anna &amp; Penelope: Great!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Anna: Penelope, where are his parents?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Penelope: Maybe &#8211; maybe he\u2019s the Captain\u2019s son and he helps his dad on tours!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Anna: Oh yeah! It would be so awesome to ride around the city in a boat all day with your dad!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Penelope: This is amazing, Anna. There are so many beautiful buildings along this road!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Anna: Hey, the Washington Monument is on the left!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Professor Bot: I have a Fun Fact too! Did you know that the Washington Monument was damaged in an earthquake? Whoa. Did you feel that?!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I heard: &#8220;around the city in a boat,&#8221; &#8220;along this road and &#8220;on the left.&#8221; All of these are prepositions showing place. Let&#8217;s watch for more places and prepositions!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Penelope: Look, Anna, we\u2019re across from the White House!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Anna: Penelope, the only thing between us and the President is the street \u2026 and a park \u2026 and a security gate \u2026. and police officers \u2026 with guns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Boy: Excuse me, do you want to know a Fun Fact about the White House?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Anna &amp; Penelope: Yes!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Boy: Inside the White House there is a swimming pool, a movie theater and 32 bathrooms!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Penelope: Thirty-two bathrooms! That\u2019s a lot of bathrooms!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Boy: I\u2019d be happy with two. I live in a house with my mom, four sisters, two aunts and only one bathroom!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Penelope: Oh my! You know, Anna, we should give him a tip!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Anna: Of course! It is polite to tip your tour guide! Luckily, I have lots of dollar bills!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Penelope: That was a great Fun Fact! Here you go!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Boy: Thank you! I can tell you Fun Facts all day!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Professor Bot: Did you hear any more prepositions of place? I heard &#8220;between us and the president&#8221; \u201cinside the White House&#8221; and &#8220;in a house.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And did you hear that the Duck Boat can go on the river? I don&#8217;t believe it.
