Because colleges- especially liberal art colleges- emphasize choosing a major based on what you find interesting to study, people study subjects in college without any intention to find a career in that area after graduation. Religion majors may end up working on Wall Street with the stock market. Studio Art majors may end up as science teachers. People end up in their professions in a variety of odd ways, so many colleges now say that it\u2019s not important what major you choose.
