A Libyan passenger plane has crashed in the capital, Tripoli, killing everyone on board except one child.

Libyan security officials say the Afriqiyah Airways plane was flying from Johannesburg, South Africa, Wednesday morning when it crashed short of the runway at the Tripoli airport.

Libya's transportation minister, Mohammed Ali Zidan, said investigators are trying to determine what caused the crash. He ruled out the possibility of terrorism.

There were 93 passengers and 11 flight crew on board the Airbus A330 aircraft.

Libyan and Dutch officials identified the sole survivor as a young Dutch child, who is in a Tripoli hospital with broken bones but who is otherwise in stable condition. There are conflicting reports on the child's gender and some uncertainty about his or her nationality.
