Officials with the United Nations Food and Agricultural Organization say world hunger remains too high, despite abundant global food supplies and lower food prices.

Marking World Food Day Friday at FAO headquarters in Rome, officials said some 925 million people around the world live in a state of chronic hunger and malnutrition, and that food production will have to increase by 70 percent to meet their needs.FAO Director Jacques Diouf said the imbalance was the result of the world under investing in agriculture in developing countries.
