You need to travel from your home to a place 40 miles (64 kilometers) away. Compare the different kinds of transportation you could use. Tell which method of travel you would choose. Give specific reasons for your choice.

Train Travel

Assuming that I had to travel to a place 40 miles away, I would have a choice of several means of transportation. Of course, I could drive my own car, which would give me the greatest flexibility and independence. I could leave at any time I liked and would be able to drive door-to-door. However, I would have to pay for the gas and fro a parking place when I arrived. Another option would be to take a bus. This would be cheaper but not as comfortable or convenient. I could also take a train. This might cost about the same as a bus but departures would probably not be as frequent. However, I could relax on the train and travel in greater comfort. Finally, I could ride a motorcycle, but I feel the distance is too great to be comfortable, especially if the weather is bad.

In the end, I believe I would choose to travel by train. It is not the most convenient method, but it would allow me to relax during the trip. In contrast to driving my own car, if I took a train, I would not have to worry about getting lost or finding a parking place when I arrived. I could read the newspaper, do some work or just watch the scenery. Also, the set departure and arrival times would not be affected by traffic, so I could be sure of my schedule. This would be important if I were planning to meet someone at my destination. Finally, I believe that traveling by train is safer than traveling by bus or motorcycle. By choosing the train I could arrive at my destination in safety and in comfort.
