北韩威胁说如韩国演习就报复

North Korea has threatened to retaliate if South Korea proceeds with planned live-fire drills from an island the North shelled last month.The official Korean Central News Agency quotes the North's military as saying the "intensity and range" of its firepower will be more serious than when it shelled Yeonpyeong Island last month. Four people were killed in the attack.

北韩威胁说，如果韩国按计划在延坪岛进行实弹演习，北韩将报复。北韩上个月对韩国的延坪岛进行了炮击。北韩官方的朝中社援引北韩军方的话说，北韩火力的“密度和范围”都将超过上个月对延坪岛的炮击。那次袭击造成4人丧生。

In Moscow, Russia summoned the South Korean and U.S. ambassadors to express "extreme concern" about the live-fire drills. During the meeting, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexei Borodavkin urged South Korea and the United States to refrain from the drills to prevent an escalation of tensions on the Korean Peninsula.

South Korea said Thursday it would stage a one-day live-fire exercise on Yeonpyeong Island between Saturday and Tuesday, depending on the weather.
