特殊难点

1.police

有些英语名词，形式上总是单数，但意义上却是复数，表示全体概念，如police, people, 这些名词作主语时，谓语动词必须用复数：

The police are looking for him. They have not found him.

Police 作表语时或前面有其他修饰词时，不用定冠词(the)。在其它情况下始终与定冠词连用。它的单数是 a policeman

There were police everywhere.

Traffic police are sometimes very polite.

2. Pay Attention To, Care, Take Care Of, Look After

pay attention to 注意、理睬

Please pay attention to the blackboard.

Don't pay any attention to Nina - she doesn't know what she's talking about.

别理会尼娜，她不知道自己在说些什么。

Care 在意、在乎,

通常用于疑问句 和否定句中：

I don't care if he breaks his neck!

也可与介词about连用

The only thing he seems to care about is money. 他好象只在乎钱。

Take care of / look after 都可以用来表示 “照顾、照料”, 可换用

Don’t worry about the garden. I’ll take care of / look after it while you are on holiday.

Take care of 也可以用来表示 “安排、处理”, look after 则不能这么用。

Her secretary always took care of the details. 她的秘书经常处理细节问题。

3.Remind & Remember

remind表示 “使…想起，提醒”

This photo reminds me of his father. 这照片使我想起他的父亲。

Please remind me to post this letter. 请提醒我寄这封信。

Remind加上词缀er 变为名词 reminder, 提醒物

When he forgot to pay his rent, his landlady sent him a reminder (=a note asking for payment).

当他忘记付房租时，房东太太给了他一张催款单。

Remember则表示 “记起，记住，代…向某人问好”

I remembered to post this letter.

"Where did you park the car?" "I can't remember." “你把车停哪啦？” “我记不得了”

Remember me to your mother. （比较正式的用法）

4. One & You

one 和you 都可以用来泛指任何人，译成汉语时常为无主句；在正式文体中，one 比 you 用得多。

One / You must be careful these days. 这年头必须小心谨慎。
