Ladies and gentlemen of the Export Section:
Thank you for taking time off from your busy jobs to come have tonight to say good-bye to Mr. Brown Lee, who is leaving for our branch office in New York tomorrow.
Mr. Lee is well known in our company for his ambitious work and his talent for the job given him by the company. We will miss him as a worker amongst us and also as a cheerful friend who could always brighten the day around here.
He will be in New York for two years at least, and maybe longer if the business situation worsens among international trading houses. Mr. Lee replaces Mr. Abel. Who returned from Chicago just last week. Mr. Abel reports that the work in the Chicago offices is both challenging and interesting, so we can guess that Mr. Lee will not have too much free time on his hands.
Mr. Lee will not be joined by his wife in the States. They have a wonderful little girl who is just five and a half years old, so they have decided that it is better for her to stay in Taiwan to start her schooling, rather than go to the States. We hope that being separated from his family will not be too great a burden on Mr. Lee.
Mr. Lee, good luck to you. Please bear the standard of our company proudly.

李先生的妻子不跟随他到美国。他们有个可爱的小女孩，今年才五岁半，因此他们决定让她留在台湾受教育。而不到美国。希望和家人分离不会造成李先生太大的负担。
李先生，祝你幸运。请以本公司的模范为傲。
