A war crimes court says prosecutors can call model Naomi Campbell to testify at the trial of former Liberian President Charles Taylor.

The Special Court for Sierra Leone on Wednesday granted a motion that would allow Campbell to testify about a so-called "blood diamond" she allegedly received from Taylor.

The exchange is said to have happened when both were in South Africa as guests of President Nelson Mandela in 1997.

The court also said Campbell's former agent Carol White and American actress Mia Farrow can testify about the affair. Farrow, who was also a guest of Mr. Mandela's at the time, says Campbell told her about the diamond.

Both the supermodel and Taylor have denied the allegations. Taylor's lawyers say the prosecution's request is nothing more than a publicity stunt.
