不伭是英语还是汉语，都常会通过重复同义词的手段来达到强调的目的，如汉语中的“全心全意”，“心”和“意”其实是一回事；与之相对应的英语表达方式，也采用了同样的方式，heart and soul中的heart 和soul也是同义的。Heart可作“心脏”，也可用“心灵”解。在heart and soul中，heart是“心灵”的意思。在heart and soul前面可以加上介词with：
