Herod''s Lost Tomb 希律王的失落王陵

There are still many ancient mysteries that archeologists are looking into and trying to figure out. One of them, the location of Herod the Great''s tomb, has been solved. Herod the Great became the King of Judea in 37 BC and is famous for his amazing building projects. One of his most famous works is the expansion of the Second Temple in Jerusalem. It is said that Herod took on such big projects because he wanted his name to be remembered forever.

Herod''s name has been remembered, but not just for good things. He is also known for ordering many people to be killed—even his own family members.

National Geographic Channel''s Herod''s Lost Tomb shares Herod''s massive structures with the world. The show focuses on several places, including the Harbor at Caesarea. It was built between 22 and 9 BC and was one of the greatest wonders of its time. Special concrete blocks were used to build the harbor in deep water. Also, around it were built markets, temples, wide roads, and public buildings. Caesarea became so successful that it hosted major social and entertainment events every five years..
