Robert: OK…well, then how much is one jin?
Uranda: Ginseng comes in 6 different grades. It runs from 5,000 to 30,000NT a jin.
Robert: 30,000NT for ginseng?! Do I have to buy a whole jin?
Uranda: You can get a liang if you want. A liang is one-sixteenth of a jin. That would be 330NT.
Robert: Whew! That sounds more like my price range. I’ll take two liangs.
Uranda: I’ll have my brother cut some for you.

罗　伯：呼！那听来比较符合我的预算。我买二两。

At the Chinese herb store

Uranda: Oh, hi! I’m Uranda! My aunt said you wanted some ginseng. Which kind do you want?
Robert: Uh, what’s the difference?
Uranda: Korean ginseng is red–it’s more warming. The Western ginseng is white and more cooling. Since it’s still kind of cold, I suggest you get the red kind!
Robert: Well, OK. How much for a pound?
Uranda: We don’t sell by the pound here in Taiwan. We sell by the jin. One jin is about one and a third pounds.

优兰达：我们在台湾买卖不用磅来算。我们是论斤卖的。一斤约等于一又三分之一磅。

Fruit Vendor: Would you like a bag?
Robert: That’s OK. I’ll just throw them in my backpack. Say, do you have any advice on where I can get some Chinese ginseng?
Fruit Vendor: Ginseng? You can get that at any Chinese herb store. I know a good one right near here–I can show you if you want.
Robert: If it’s close to here and you don’t mind, sure, that would be great!
Fruit Vendor: Come with me!
