Tony不知道怎么写简历，就向Tina请教。他问了要不要写上自己的年龄、以前辞职的原因，还有该怎么措辞等等。这里面的学问大着呢！

Tony: Tina, can you help me with my CV? I don’t know if I should include my age in it.
Tina: Well, if you leave it out, you make it more of an issue. And the employer will obviously spot it.
Tony: I see. What about stating my communication skill as “excellent”?
Tina: I’d prefer “good communication skill”. If you overstate your abilities in a bid to impress, it will actually make you look silly at an interview.
Tony: Really? Does that mean I have to be honest with my leaving the former company?
Tina: That can be discussed at the interview, not in the CV. Remember, an employer usually scans for 30 seconds through your resume. He will switch off for anything longer than that. One page of clear writing is enough.

Making a Memorable First Impression

When Americans introduce themselves to an informal group, they oftentimes try to think of something unique or interesting to say about themselves to help the group remember them. Tina: Well, it refers to self-introduction, say, at business meetings, trade shows or some other professional gatherings.
Tony: I thought there are no second chances to make a memorable impression. And you have to surprise the listener in your introduction, but why with an elevator talk?
Tina: Well, usually you only have a few seconds to introduce yourself, the time it takes an elevator to travel from one floor to the next.
Tony: Amazing! Can I say a horse talk?
