People are talking a lot about climate change these days. Everybody in their twenties or older seems to start their discussion with memories of colder winters. “I remember when we would go to bed and wake up with three feet of snow in the driveway. That doesn’t happen anymore!” I myself remember the winters of my childhood being longer and more brutal than the wimpy winters of today. Are these observations by common folks such as myself really valid ones? Scientific data gathered in the last few decades seems to support our claims that the Earth is beginning to heat up.
