Lily is slowly gargling saltwater

Lily:[Coughs] This is awful! It’s like drinking saltwater! It’s like drowning in the ocean!
Mom:Don’t be so dramatic. You’re such a baby. Now sit down and finish your soup.
Lily:OK, OK.
Mom:And when we get back from the doctor’s, you’ll gargle again.
Lily:Maybe I’ll run away first.
Mom:Well, the only free food on the streets is from a soup kitchen, and their soup isn’t as tasty as mine!

莉莉慢吞吞地用盐水漱口

莉莉：（咳嗽）感觉好糟喔！简直是在喝盐水！好象在海里溺水一样！
妈妈：别这么会演戏。妳太幼稚了。现在去坐好，把汤喝完。
莉莉：好啦，好啦。
妈妈：等我们看完医生回来，你还要再漱口一次。
莉莉：或许我会先逃跑。
妈妈：嗯，外面唯一免费的食物，要到救济院才吃得到，而且他们的汤可没我的好喝！

Lily:Great. My favorite-soup, soup, soup…
Mom:Oh, and there’s one more thing you have to do every hour on the hour, sweets.
Lily:Blow my nose?
Mom:Well, you do that when your nose needs blowing. I was talking about a way to make your throat heal faster.
Lily:No, please, Mom! Don’t make me gargle with saltwater!
Mom:It works better than any medicine, Lily. I’ll make you a glass right now, and you’ll finish it!

妈妈：莉莉，这比任何一种药都有效。我马上帮你冲一杯，你要漱完！

The next morning

Lily:Morning, Mom. [coughs and sniffles]
Mom:I made a doctor’s appointment for you.
Lily:No, I’m fine. I don’t need to see a doctor.
Mom:Then I guess you’re healthy enough to clean your room before school.
Lily:OK. I’ll go see the doctor.
Mom:Bundle up. It’s wet and rainy out there. Here’s some soup.
Lily:Chicken soup again?
Mom:Soup does the body good, sweetie. It’s what you need when you’re under the weather.
