Robert: Whew! I had to wait for almost an hour to get to the front of the line.
Master Li: You have much patience.
Robert: Wow! Your calligraphy is very beautiful. It was worth the wait!
Master Li: Thank you. Today I’m writing a kind of poem called a Chinese couplet.
Robert: What does it say?
Master Li: This is an especially famous one. It says “May the passing days bring you health and longevity. May this season of renewal find you basked in riches.”

Robert: What’s going on here?
Passerby: We’re waiting in line to get one of Master Li’s Chinese couplets. I got one last year and I had good luck all year!
Robert: Master Li? Who’s that?
Passerby: He’s Taipei’s most famous calligraphy master! Quick! Get in line!
Robert: I will! I could use some good luck!
