Mr. Geller: I was just thinking. When my time comes-
Monica: Dad!
Mr. Geller: Listen to me! When my time comes, I wanna be buried at sea.
Monica: You what?
Mr. Geller: I wanna be buried at sea, it looks like fun.
Monica: Define fun.
Mr. Geller: C’mon, you’ll make a day of it! You’ll rent a boat, pack a lunch…
Monica: …And then we throw your body in the water… Gee, that does sound fun.
盖勒先生：我在想，轮到我死的时候…
莫妮卡：爸！
盖勒先生：听我说嘛！轮到我死的时候，我要海葬。
莫妮卡：你要什么？
盖勒先生：要海葬，很有趣。
莫妮卡：怎么个有趣法？
盖勒先生：你们这一天会很有意思的，租条船，带午饭…
莫妮卡：然后把你的尸体扔到海里去…嘻嘻，好象真的很有趣。
【世博视角】
人生的某些特殊时刻，我们都会有些感想，平时是绝对不会考虑这些问题的。盖勒先生在莫妮卡外婆的葬礼后也来了一段突发奇想，说：When my time comes… 这个my time，字面上是我的时间，根据上下文，可以猜出，这个time就是指死的时候，汉语里说我的大限，我的死期。实际上，time的释义之一就是an appointed or fated moment, especially of death or giving birth，指约定的时间或命中注定的某个时刻，尤其指生死。如：
He died before his time. 他死得过早。
She is already experiencing labor pains. Her time is near. 她快要生了。
可见，要确定这个time的含义，必须有上下文。此外，time也可以指服役的时间，在某些非正式场合下，还可以特别指服刑的时间，如：
He did his time already. Just give him a job.
他已经服完刑了，给他一个工作吧。
盖勒先生认为海葬很有趣，You will make a day of it. 你们这一天会过得很有趣。和time一样，这个说法也是很有用的，虽然都是很简单的词汇，真正有效地加以利用的话，表达会很有力。这个day是指一种机会，或者是特别的时刻，如：
Every dog has its day.
人人都有得意（风光）的时候。
