【世博精解】

1)a bit 只修饰处于补足语位置上的形容词，不能修饰名词短语前的形容词，这时的用法与a little 一样。如：

The box is a bit/a little heavy.
The weather is a bit/a little hot.
（a bit/a little heavy box(es)/hot weather, etc.错误用法）

2)a bit 不能直接修饰名词，须用 a bit of,（但 a little 则可以）如：

I have a little money with me.
I have a bit of money with me.
(I have a bit money with me.错误用法）

3)习惯用语 after a bit, for a bit, 和 in a bit 在口语中均用来表示“a short time”的意思。如：

I am going to sleep for a bit.
I will be ready in a bit.

4)a bit 作程度副词用在否定句中，与 at all 同义；用在肯定句中与a little同义。（但a bit 不管指何种意义，都是非正式用法）如：

They don't like his attitude at all/a bit.
We will try and help her a little/a bit.
They weren't a bit aplogetic.
(They weren't apologetic at all.正式用法）

*注意：
not a bit 和 not a little 的意义正好相反。not a bit 是 not at all的非正式用法。但not a little 是委婉语，作“much”解释，两者切勿弄错了。

试比较：

He is not a bit tired.（他一点也不累）
He is not a little tired（他相当累）
He was not a bit annoyed.（他一点也不烦恼）
He was not a little annoyed.（他相当烦恼）
