Ladies and gentlemen:
It is my pleasure to introduce the keynote speaker for today, Mr. Frederick Rowe of the Untied Nations.
Mr. Rowe is a renowned international authority on the problem of overpopulation in developing countries, and he has graciously consented to speak to us on that subject tonight.
Mr. Rowe spent his undergraduate days at Columbia, went on to get his master’s degree from Harvard, and a Ph. D. from Yale.
After graduation, Mr. Rowe immediately became a member of the United Nations Relief and Rehabilitation Administration, and he has spent over six years working in Africa and India. Through his experiences during those six years, he has come to be recognized as an expert in the problem of overpopulation and food supply.
Mr. Rowe is the author of the controversial book, We’re Killing Ourselves, in which he tries to sketch life in the year 2000.
We’re all anxious to hear Mr. Rowe’s remarks, so let us all welcome him to the podium.

各位先生、各位女士：
很高兴介绍今天的主讲人，联合国的腓特烈.罗先生。
罗先生是国际知名的权威，专门研究发展中国家人口过剩的问题。他很亲切地答应今晚以此为题发表演说。
罗先生从哥伦比亚大家毕业之后，进入哈佛大家继续攻读硕士学位，然后在耶鲁大学攻读哲学博士。
毕业后，罗先生随即成为联合国善后救济总署的一员，而且花了六年多的时间在非洲印度工作。以他在那六年间的经验，他终于被公认为人口过过剩和食物供应问题的专家。
罗先生是那本引起争论的《我们正在谋杀自己》的作者，在书中他试着描绘公元两千年的生活。
我们都急着要听罗先生的谈话，因此，让我们欢迎他上台！
