本栏目是由世博英语Starry_Night原创编写!

PHOEBE: You are so smitten.
MONICA: I am not.
PHOEBE: Oh, you are so much the smitten kitten. You should ask him out.
MONICA: Dr. Burke? I don’t think so. I mean, like, he’s a grown up.
PHOEBE: So. You two are totally into each other.
MONICA: Phoebe, he’s a friend of my parents. He’s like 20 years older than me.

As soon as he saw her, he was smitten.

She was smitten with jazz at a very early age.

对某人一见倾心可以用smitten,如果两人互相吸引的话我们可以说 be attracted to each other, 但在口语中有个更加简单的表达法,那就是be into each other。 感兴趣”,一般我们都是用be into sth, be into sb大多只在口语中使用,例如:

I know she’s really into sports, so I thought I’d ask her to come skiing with us.

You really wanna know? It’s just that he is not that into you.
