PHOEBE: Oh, you are so much the smitten kitten. You should ask him out.

【世博视角】
先来看一个动词smite, 解释为“重击”，不过这一用法已经过时，现在还在用的是它的过去分词形式smitten, 用来形容“一下子爱上…”，难怪有人说一见倾心的刹那感觉就像是被什么给重重地打了一下，如：As soon as he saw her, he was smitten. 有时候我们也会一下子爱上做某件事情，比如：
She was smitten with jazz at a very early age.
对某人一见倾心可以用smitten，如果两人互相吸引的话我们可以说 be attracted to each other, 但在口语中有个更加简单的表达法，那就是be into each other。into这个词的解释之一就是“喜欢，对…感兴趣”，一般我们都是用be into sth, be into sb大多只在口语中使用，例如：
I know she’s really into sports, so I thought I’d ask her to come skiing with us.
You really wanna know? It’s just that he is not that into you.
