特殊难点

1. salary & wages 词义辨析

salary是指按月支付的薪水，通常付入银行的个人帐户：

e.g. He collects his salary at the end of each month. 他每月底领薪水。

wages是付给体力劳动者的工资（现金），一般按小时、天、周来计算：

e.g. The workmen collect their wages at the end of the week. 工人们在周末领工资。

＊pay day 发薪水或是发工资的日子

2. borrow & lend

borrow表示向别人借，通常与from连用：

e.g. He has never borrowed money from me. 他从未向我借过钱。

lend 表示把东西借给别人，一般带两个宾语，既可用lend sb sth, 也可用lend sth to sb :

e.g. My friend lent me 10 pounds.

My friend lent 10 pounds to me.

我朋友借给我10英镑。

练习：

1.He is a bank manager and he gets a good salary.

他是一家银行的经理，薪水不错。

2.I lent him some money and he said he would give it back to me when he got his wages/salary.

我借给他一些钱，他答应拿到薪水/工资就会还我。

3.Yesterday he borrowed my typewriter. I hope he returns it soon.

昨天他借了我的打字机。我希望他不久能还我。

4.Workmen’s wages have gone up since the war.

工人的工资自战争以来有所上升。
