特殊难点

1.Ask and Ask for

ask: 问，询问

After the lesson, he asked me a question.

He asked me about my father.

Ask for 要求，向……要

He asked me for money.

He asked for three days’ sick leave. 他请了三天病假。

2. Except, Except For, Apart From

except 不能放在句首，句首则换用except for

We go there every day except Sunday.

Except for you and me, everyone is enjoying this new play.

Except for 表示的是在整体上给以定论后，从局部上加以修正或补充。与except不同的是： except所 “排除” 的部分与前面所述整体词属于同类，是部分与整体的关系；而except for所 “排除” 的部分与前所述整体词往往不是同类。如：

The file is perfect except for a few shots.

要不是那几个镜头，这部电影就十全十美了。（ “电影” 与 “镜头” 不是同类）

They go to work every day except Sunday.

除了周日，他们每天都上班。( “每天” 与 “周日” 属同类 )

apart from 和except for 可以换用，如：

It’s a good paper, apart from/except for a few spelling mistakes.

这是篇好论文，只是有几处拼写错误。

3. Which of, Either of, Neither of, Both of

这些短语都用在两者之间，当which, either, neither作主语时，虽然of之后跟复数名词，句子的谓语动词却应该用单数。

Which of the books is for me ? Neither of them is for you.

练习：

1.Except for a slight headache, I feel all right now.

2.I liked them very much so I bought both of them.

3.Apart from / except for the fact that he drank too much, he was rude to everybody present.

4.I asked a question. I did not ask for an answer.

5.He could not answer either of the questions I asked. / He could answer neither of the questions I asked.
