原文过于罗嗦，作了简化的处理，另外，有些句子明显是对照词典逐字翻译的，也予以纠正。
I like winter!

Different people like different seasons and most of them would prefer summer to winter. But I love winter ever since I was a child. I like to spend time observing and admiring the snowflakes coming down. How beautiful they are! With heavy clothes, I actually feel so warm. And most important of all, the feeling of warmth in winter is so great! Although I cannot wear colorful skirts in winter, something most girls love about summer, I simply love winter!

1、摘要练习
分别使用快速阅读法、听写法和合并法练习写摘要。
将合并句子写的摘要贴到会员社区。自己根据课文内容，将可以合并的句子合并，去掉一些细节，篇幅争取控制在50字到60字。

2、继续做两句话概括的练习。
用两句概括，请大家自己做。

三、本课重点：作文常见错误（二）--情态动词

情态动词也是比较令人头疼的。请看下列句子：

1、有很多人在河里划船，所以孩子们不该把球踢得这么重。
There were many people rowing on the river, so the children mustn’t kick the ball so hard.
情态动词must没有过去时，所以这个地方不能用must，应该说shouldn’t have +过去分词kicked来表示：本来应该做某事而没有做到或本来不应该做的却做了。常用于责备。

2、这一次他没法通过考试了。
He can’t be able to pass the examination this time.
Can和be able to都有“能够”的意思，但不能重复使用。可以说：
He can’t pass the examination this time.
He is unable to pass the examination this time.

3、他不敢独自一人开车。
He dare not to drive alone.
dare用作情态动词时，应该是dare+没有to的动词不定式，但如果dare做实义动词时，它的否定形式应该是助动词+dare。
He dare not drive alone.
He doesn’t dare to drive alone.

4、你昨天不必参加会议的。
You mustn’t attend the meeting yesterday.
本来的意思是“没有义务”做某事，应该用don’t have to, don’t need to, 或needn’t；mustn’t表示的是禁止做某事。
You didn’t have to attend the meeting yesterday.

请大家注意这些用法，特别是有些动词，如dare和need，既可以做情态动词又可以做一般的实义动词，使用它们的否定式和疑问式时尤其要小心。但用好了，可以为写作增添许多“感情色彩”。

四、作文线索

本课描写的是踢球的孩子不小心把球踢到了划船人的身上，足球变成了水球。所幸没有造成伤害事故。

这一课给大家出个命题作文：他昨晚没敢来。请大家先把题目的英文写出来，然后编一个短小的故事。
