Riddles 谜语

Because riddles are so closely related to language, usually they do not translate easily. Here are a couple of riddles that can be appreciated only in English: "What has a face, two hands but no arms?" "How do you make the number seven 'even' ?"

谜语和语言有密切的关系，所以通常很难翻译。这里举出一些只能用英语来欣赏的谜语："什么东西有一张脸，两双手，但没有手臂？""怎样把七变成偶数？"

这两个riddles猜出来了吗？哈！好简单。第一个是clock啊；第二个还要简单，就是…还是留给大家考虑吧。

Signing The Cast 在石膏上签字

When an injured person breaks an arm or a leg, his or her friends usually write get-well messages on the cast. This custom is popular, an unsigned cast is hard to find.

When you visit an American home you're likely to see a cheerful message or two hanging on the wall. The message is often a famous quotation, religious principle or short poem. The message may even be an original saying written by a member of the family.

当你到美国家庭拜访时，大都会看到墙上挂有一，两个激励人生的格言牌。这些格言大多是引用名言，宗教教义或是短诗。也有的是家庭中某成员所写的格言。
