Many people believe that women make better parents than men and this is why they have the greater role in raising children in most societies. Others claim that men are just as good as women at parenting. Write an essay expressing your points of view.

Example writing:

There is no definite way of parenting, either by women or by men. The activity of raising a child is as rewarding as sacrificing in the process facing mothers and fathers alike. There are two different roles to be played in bringing up their children from infancy to adulthood. Traditionally, women used to be responsible for nurturing kids. The situation has not changed damatically even though more women are having paid jobs like men. Nature, however, favors women as better parents than men. It is a reality, not a choice. The emotional connection between a mother and her child is unique and universal, which can be defined only as matenal love.

That women mostly have more time and patience than men is part of that reality. Parenting requires time and patience, promoting and supporting the development of a child--physically, intellecturally, socially, and last but not least, emotionally. Mother-child interactive emotions are inspired by love through natural instinct beyond biological relationships. Not that paternal love is less; but that maternal love is different. It is as if because God could not be anywhere anytime so He creates mothers.

Parenting implies more work for women than for men. In a certain sense, all mothers are working mothers. A woman's work as mother is so important that being a full-time mother is one of the highest paid jobs since payment is pure love. In comparison, the image of fatherly love is more typical of a strict father placing a strong value on discipline as a means to survive and thrive in a harsh world. Take the more extreme case of single parenting to compare the results. Chances are that a single mother outdoes a single father in parenting, other things being equal.

A mother's work is neither part-time nor seasonal. A child stays connected emotionally all the time. Maternal love enjoys no holidays. This part of human nature is also true of many species of female animals in the wildlife, maternal love being universal. Human mothers' love is unique in the form of a paradox, nevertheless. Some are kissing mothers and some are scolding mothers. It is love just the same as rememered. Probably that is why Mother's Day is more heartily celebrated than Father's Day.
