China says this week's visit to Beijing by Burma's new president is certain to raise strategic and economic cooperation between the two countries to a new high.China's ambassador to Burma, Li Junhua, made the remark in an interview published Wednesday by the official Xinhua news agency. Li said the new Burmese government has achieved a smooth transition to power and has sent strong signals of its intention to develop the economy, boost living standards and open up to the outside world.

中国表示，缅甸新总统吴登盛这个星期访华必定将中缅两国之间战略合作、经济合作推上新的高度。中国驻缅甸大使李军华在官方新闻机构新华社星期三发表的采访中发表了此番言论。李军华说，缅甸新政府已经完成了权力的平稳交接，并发出强烈信号，表露新政府发展经济、改善民生以及对外开放的意愿。

Burmese President Thein Sein is due in China from Thursday to Sunday for his first bilateral visit since taking office at the end of March along with a nominally civilian government. His only previous trip as president was to Jakarta for a recent Association of Southeast Asian Nations summit.Li said Thein Sein's appearance in Jakarta signaled his government's intention to play a larger role in the activities of the international community.

缅甸总统吴登盛将与星期四到星期天访华，这是他三月底与名义上的文官政府一起就职以来的首次双边访问。吴登盛之前作为总统唯一一次旅行是前往雅加达参加最近的东南亚国家联盟峰会。李军华说，吴登盛出席雅加达的会议表明其政府愿意在国际社会活动中扮演更多角色。
