1、摘要写作

When I gave a lift to a young man in the south of France, we exchanged greetings in French. As I only knew a few words, we kept silent during the journey. At the end of the trip, I found that he was English himself.(45字)

概括型版本：

I didn’t talk to the young man in my car when I was driving to a town in France. But in the end, I found he was English himself. (29字)

2、作文

I had a terrible experience last year. After I had finished my business in a small town in the south of China, I got on a train to Beijing. On the way, a young man shared a double bed with me. We sat by the window and started chatting. As soon as a talk show was played on the train, I began to say nasty things about talk shows and those performers. I used Jiang Kun as an example. I said many bad things about him. For example, he didn’t care too much for talk shows nowadays. He even tried to make money on the Internet. Apart from a few words, the young man sitting by me kept silent and listened to me attentively all the time. We had nearly reached the city, when the young man suddenly said, very slowly, “Do you know who I am?” As I soon learnt, he was Jiang Kun’s son!

二、摘要写作

1、继续按照前面的合并句子的方法来练习摘要写作。自己根据课文内容，将可以合并的句子合并，去掉一些细节，篇幅争取控制在50字到60字。答案见下期。

2、继续做两句话概括的练习。

用两句概括，先给出后面一句，请大家做出前面一句。答案见下期。

三、本课重点：基本句型拓展：时间状语

时间状语在描述性的文字里使用很多，用以交代事件发生的时间。可以使用一个词来担任，如：

Yesterday he got up early. (yesterday和early)

He will be leaving tomorrow. (tomorrow)

She often listens to pop music.(often)

也可以使用一个介词短语，如：

We will go out in the evening.

He finished reading his letter within a minute.

甚至可以使用一个从句来表示，这个从句就叫（时间）状语从句。如课文里的句子：

I felt very nervous when I went into his office. When引导一个时间状语从句，表示“在我走进他的办公室时”。主句和从句的动作同时发生。

He did not look up from his desk when I entered. 同上句，用when来引导一个时间状语从句。

After I had sat down, he said that business was very bad. 用after引导一个时间状语从句，表示在“我坐下”以后的时间，从句的动作比主句的动作先发生。

那么从句的动作比主句后发生的动作时，应该怎么造句呢？例句：在你出去之间，你必须先把功课完成。

Before you go out, you must finish your work first.

四、作文线索

本课与十四课在描述人物心理和意外结尾上可谓异曲同工。另外要注意的是对话的描写，包括说话时的神态、声音，还有标点符号的运用、分段的习惯，都应该留意。

现在请大家描述一件出人意料的事情，可以是好事，也可以是坏事。要有对话，而且结尾才揭示意外。参考答案见下期。
