第七十二课 A car called Bluebird “蓝鸟”汽车

一、摘要写作

1、摘要练习

分别使用快速阅读法、听写法和合并法练习写摘要。

将合并句子写的摘要贴到会员社区。自己根据课文内容，将可以合并的句子合并，去掉一些细节，篇幅争取控制在50字到60字。

2、继续做两句话概括的练习。

用两句概括，请大家自己做。

从第三十一课开始，我不再提供摘要练习的答案。请大家认真做好摘要练习，这是提高表达能力，进而提高写作能力，特别是围绕中心进行写作的好方法。希望大家坚持，我会在会员社区帮大家修改摘要，并且适当做一些讲评，选出比较好的摘要供大家参考。

二、本课重点：合并句子

我们可以通过合并句子的方法，使我们的句子加长，以便更加准确、清楚地表达。一般可以通过同位语、主从复合句、分词短语、介词短语等方法来合并句子：
1. Sir Malcolm Campbell was the greatest driver. He was the first man to drive at over 300 miles per hour.
2. The greatest driver, Sir Malcolm Campbell, was the first man to drive at over 300 miles per hour.

3. Bluebird was the car he was driving. It had been specially built for him.
4. Bluebird, the car he was driving, had been specially built for him.

下面的句子是通过介词短语来合并句子的：
5. He made his attempt. Then he was disappointed to learn that his average speed had been 299 miles per hour.
6. After his attempt, Campbell was disappointed to learn that his average speed had been 299 miles per hour.

下面的句子是通过主从复合句来合并句子的：
7. Campbell reached a speed of over 304 miles per hour. He had great difficulty in controlling the car because a tyre burst during the first run.
8. Although Campbell reached a speed of over 304 miles per hour, he had great difficulty in controlling the car because a tyre burst during the first run.

下面的句子是用分词短语来合并句子的：
9. Sir Malcolm’s son, Donald, followed in his father’s footsteps many years later. He also set up a world record.
10. Following in his father’s footsteps many years later, Sir Malcolm’s son, Donald, also set up a world record.

此外，还要注意一个问题，合并句子以后，结构上要照顾到上下文，使文章能够前后连贯，衔接起来。

三、值得学习的句子

1. He was the first man to drive at over 300 miles per hour.
He was the first man to land on the moon.
He was the last person I want to meet with.

2. Bluebird had been specially built for him.
This house was specially built for him.
This model was specially designed for sports.

3. It was over 30 feet in length.
It was 20 feet in width.
The sea is over 10,000 feet in depth in this region.

4. He had great difficulty in controlling the car.
He had great difficulty in completing this task.
I admire his ease in interacting with people.
