第八十七课 A perfect alibi 极好的不在犯罪现场的证据

一、摘要写作

1、摘要练习

分别使用快速阅读法、听写法和合并法练习写摘要。

将合并句子写的摘要贴到会员社区。自己根据课文内容，将可以合并的句子合并，去掉一些细节，篇幅争取控制在50字到60字。

2、继续做两句话概括的练习。

用两句概括，请大家自己做。

从第三十一课开始，我不再提供摘要练习的答案。请大家认真做好摘要练习，这是提高表达能力，进而提高写作能力，特别是围绕中心进行写作的好方法。希望大家坚持，我会在会员社区帮大家修改摘要，并且适当做一些讲评，选出比较好的摘要供大家参考。

二、本课重点：文章衔接的手段[14]

我们前面说过，英文比较注重形式，也就是所谓的形合，而汉语比较注重内在意义上的联系，也就是所谓的意合。因此，多了解英文形合的一些词汇和短语可以帮助我们更好的连接英文的句子。我们到目前为止，已经讲了很多这样的例子，现在把另外一些常见的词语列出来：

希望大家在平时的阅读中留意这些词汇的用法，并注意其他一些不太经常使用的方法，加强连接文字的手段。另外要注意的是，不能光是看这些词汇的中文解释，不能根据汉语的习惯直接套用，而是应该看这些词汇在英文的文章中是如何使用的。

三、值得学习的句子

1. At the time the murder was committed, I was traveling on the 8 o’clock train to London.
At the time this question was raised, the teacher was not present.
At the time he was given this present, his parents were moved to tears.

2. And you didn’t notice anything unusual?
I have noticed something unusual in the building.
There must be something peculiar about him.

3. I suggest that you did not catch the 8 o’clock train, but that you caught the 8.25 which would still get you to work on time.
I suppose you did not receive any money from him, but that you sent him some money instead.
I am sure that you didn’t see me, but that you saw someone else.

四、课后作文练习

Make up a detective story. Perhaps some money from the safe in your office is gone. And the thief is among your colleagues.
