第五十课 Taken for a ride 乘车兜风

一、摘要写作

1、摘要练习

分别使用快速阅读法、听写法和合并法练习写摘要。

将合并句子写的摘要贴到会员社区。自己根据课文内容，将可以合并的句子合并，去掉一些细节，篇幅争取控制在50字到60字。

2、继续做两句话概括的练习。

用两句概括，请大家自己做。

从第三十一课开始，我不再提供摘要练习的答案。请大家认真做好摘要练习，这是提高表达能力，进而提高写作能力，特别是围绕中心进行写作的好方法。希望大家坚持，我会在会员社区帮大家修改摘要，并且适当做一些讲评，选出比较好的摘要供大家参考。

二、本课重点：句子主要成分的拓展

句子的主要成分有主谓宾，或者是主系表，此外，还有一些常见的修饰成分，如形容词、副词、短语和从句等。如：
1. The trip is interesting.
2. I’ll tell you the destination.

travelling in the country, driving across the country, biking around the world
where to go(副词where加动词不定式to go相当于一个名词性短语)，how to deal with these problems, which book to buy, who to contact with

3. The biking adventure around the world he is going to take next year will be extremely exciting.
4. I’ll tell you where we are going to meet.
5. What he is going to talk about will not be recorded.
6. I’ll inform you how they had retrieved the access to our database.

此外，这一课出现了一些常用句型，需要学会使用。

7. My trip took me longer than I expected.
8. This is as far as we go.

第七句的比较方法很有用，意思是“比预期的更…”，如：
9. This movie gave me more than I expected.
10. He runs faster than I expected.
11. The speech went longer than I expected.
后面的句子动词也可以改变，如：
12. The project finished earlier than I anticipated.
甚至后面的整个句子都可以改变：
13. The project finished more smoothly than it was planned.
14. He made it to the top position in the government, much further than his father had imagined.

15. We can go this far.
使用同样的句型，我们可以造出许多句子：
16. This is as good as he can be.
17. That’s as further apart as the opinions can be.
18. This is as long as he can stay under water.
19. He can remain alive in the freezing cold room like this for 5 minutes. And this is as long as he can stay under water.

三、作文线索

本课描述的是粗心的售票员忘了提醒乘客而致使其错过站点，使旅行的时间增加了很多，而乘客只好把它当作是兜风。

请大家编写这个旅客回头的路上，售票员热情地向他介绍沿途的风光时的对话。最后，售票员又忘记了提醒乘客下车。

四、课后练习

改写下列句子，拓展主语或宾语。

1、The lesson was boring.

2、The only passenger was him.

3、The writer was trying to tell us the truth.

4、The football player preferred to stay at home.

5、This worker should tighten the screws.

6、Everyone wants you to change your mind.
