【世博精解】

sorrow means a feeling of sadness or distress caused esp. by loss, disappointment or regret, grief. 悲伤，悲痛，懊丧，悔恨。

sorrow 后常跟的介词有at/for/over.例如：sorrow at somebody’s death 因某人去世而感到的悲伤。sorrowing over his child’s death 因他孩子夭折而悲伤。

我们再来看一下这个单词的另一个固定搭配：

more in sorrow than in anger：with more regret than anger for what was done. 感到遗憾，倒并不生气。例如：It was more in sorrow than in anger that he criticized his former colleague. 他批评以前的同事，并非出于气愤而是为他惋惜。
