第五十九课 In or out? 进来还是出去？

一、摘要写作

1、摘要练习

分别使用快速阅读法、听写法和合并法练习写摘要。

将合并句子写的摘要贴到会员社区。自己根据课文内容，将可以合并的句子合并，去掉一些细节，篇幅争取控制在50字到60字。

2、继续做两句话概括的练习。

用两句概括，请大家自己做。

从第三十一课开始，我不再提供摘要练习的答案。请大家认真做好摘要练习，这是提高表达能力，进而提高写作能力，特别是围绕中心进行写作的好方法。希望大家坚持，我会在会员社区帮大家修改摘要，并且适当做一些讲评，选出比较好的摘要供大家参考。

二、本课重点：used to和be used to的用法

写作的时候，我们常常需要表示过去的习惯动作。比如：
1、 他们总是在这个花园里玩捉迷藏，现在还是。
They used to play hide-and-seek in this garden. They still do.
2、 电影以前在这里拍的，现在不了。
The movies used to be made here, but they are not any more.

如果需要表示习惯于某事，一般可以用be used to来表示：
3、 He was used to a tight schedule. 他习惯于紧张的日程。
4、 He was used to going to work at 9 and coming back at 5. 他习惯于朝九晚五式的上班。
5、 He got used to the cold weather here. 他习惯了这里的寒冷天气。

三、值得学习的句子

1、Our dog, Rex, used to sit outside our front gate and bark.
His brother used to sit on his laps and watch TV.
The weather used to be ok in this area.

2、He would bark until someone opened the gate.
He would drink until it was midnight.
They would wait until everyone had left.

3、 Since then, he has developed another bad habit.
He had developed cancer as he smoked too much.
They developed a new mobile that could take video clips.

4、Rex got so annoyed that we have not seen him since.
He got so annoyed that everyone was asked to leave.
The teacher got so annoyed that she made everyone write ten pages as their homework.
