【世博精解】

fight for sth means strive to obtain or accomplish sth,意为争取获得完成某事物的意思。我们可以说:fight for freedom, independence, human rights, etc. 争取自由,独立,人权等等。

Fight 常用的介词短语如下:

Fight back: means fight with renewed force and strength; show resistance or retaliation 是指反击,回击,抵抗的意思。例如:After a disastrous first half the term fought back to level the match. 该队在上半场惨败后重整旗鼓以求扳成平局。

Fight out: means settle (an argument, a dispute, etc) by fighting. 通过斗争使(争论等)得到解决。例如:I can’t help them to resolve their quarrel—they must fight it out between them.我无法帮助他们解决争论—他们得打出个结果来。
