each other, one another比较

示例：
Ruth and I write to each other / one another every month.

过去英语语法书和英语语法教师总是告诫学生：each other用于两个人，而one another用于两人以上。然而这条“规则”现在人们已不大重视了。在实际应用中，现在这两个词组之间并没有多少区别或根本没有区别。但当我们非常笼统地谈，而不特指什么人时，多半用one another。

All men are equal and should respect each other/ one another.
人皆平等，应当互相尊重。

each other/ one another还有所有格的形式，如：

We often borrow each other’s ties.
我们经常互相借用领带。

each other/ one another不能用作句子中的主语。
