第八十一课 Escape 脱逃

1.When he had killed the guard, the prisoner of war quickly dragged him into the bushes.
那个战俘杀死卫兵之后，（他）迅速地将（那个卫兵的）尸体拖进灌木丛。
这是一个含有时间状语从句的复合句，根据英语的习惯，人称代词要放在从句中，所代的名词要放在主句当中。
例如：When he finished the operation ,the doctor went out.
医生做完手术后出去了。

2...soon changed into the dead man's clothes他很快就换上了死者的衣服。
(1)change into 在这里表示“换（衣）”：例如：
You'd better change damp clothes into something dry.
你最好把湿衣服脱掉换上干的。
(2)cloth, clothes与clothing
cloth 通常指“布”、“布料”，为不可数名词：
clothes 表示“衣服”、“服装”，后面动词用复数形式
clothing 是服装的总称，不可数名词，不仅包括衣服，还包括鞋、帽等：
例如：
I want to buy enough cloth to make a suit.
我想买够做一身衣服的料子。
It is cold today .Put on more clothes.
今天天冷，多穿些衣服。

3.Now, dressed in a blue uniform and with a rifle over his shoulder, the prisoner marched boldly up and down in front of the camp.
(1)dressed in a blue uniform and with a rifle over his shoulder...在句中作伴随状语。
(2)up and down 来来回回，例如：
Don't walk up and down. It may disturb others downstairs.
别来来回回走动，它会打扰楼下的其他人。
(3)in front of在... 前面。（强调外部）
in the front of 在... 前面（强调内部）例如：
In front of the house ,there are some flowers.
在房子前面有许多花。
He sits in the front of the classroom.
他坐在教室前排。

4...running here and there: here and there到处，例如：
In the garden ,children are running here and there .
花园里孩子们在到处奔跑。

5.The officers got out and the prisoner stood to attention and saluted as they passed.
战俘立正站好，并在他们从他面前经过时敬了礼。
get out（用于小轿车）
get off(用于火车和汽车）例如：
He got off the train as soon as possible.
stand to attention,立正。
