differentiate使分辨、辨别的意思，常同from和between搭配。例如：I can’t differentiate between rose and chinese rose.我分不清玫瑰和月季。这句话也可以说成 I can’t differentiate rose from chinese rose. 但这句名言中differentiate from的意思与这个例句的意思不同，它的意思是“使有差别、有特点从而区别于其他”。那么这句话就是说在激烈的竞争下，只有优质、有特色的服务才能使企业在众多的竞争对手中显示出自己的不同，在竞争中占有一席之地。参加面试的时候，不妨问问自己“What differentiates me from other candidates for the position?”
