1.介词短语做后置定语

a letter from a girl of her own age

来自一个（和她年龄差不多的）女孩的 信

一张（上面写着她的地址和姓名的）纸

2.动词+介词结构

这个结构中，介词后面通常可以接：名词、代词、动名词理解的时候要仔细斟酌介词的对应意思。

I borrowed some money from him.

我向他借了些钱。

Exercise prevents me from getting fat.

运动防止我发胖。

She received a letter from a friend.

她收到来自朋友的 一封信。

动词和介词的搭配是本课关键用法。由于书本上的罗列太挤，请大家务必将所有搭配按每行一个誊写下来，然后把书本上给出的意思一一写在对应搭配的后面，然后根据搭配的意思造句并将自己造的句子朗读若干遍，直到领略搭配的意思和用法。

句型模仿：

注意听出前面两个句子所包含的意思，然后体会后面句子是怎样通过动词和介词的搭配来表达意思的。这样的表达能是句子的意思更丰富，更有表现力。

1.The tip’s included in the bill.

2.My hands smell of soup.

3.Please concentrate on your work.

4.Jones was dismissed from the firm.

5.She suffers terribly from colds.

6.He persisted in asking questions.

7.They experimented on rats.

8.They can’t cure him of the serious illness.

9.Beware of that dog.

10.I can’t prevent him from coming.
