第七十七课 A successful operation 一例成功的手术

一、摘要写作

1、摘要练习

分别使用快速阅读法、听写法和合并法练习写摘要。

将合并句子写的摘要贴到会员社区。自己根据课文内容，将可以合并的句子合并，去掉一些细节，篇幅争取控制在50字到60字。

2、继续做两句话概括的练习。

用两句概括，请大家自己做。

从第三十一课开始，我不再提供摘要练习的答案。请大家认真做好摘要练习，这是提高表达能力，进而提高写作能力，特别是围绕中心进行写作的好方法。希望大家坚持，我会在会员社区帮大家修改摘要，并且适当做一些讲评，选出比较好的摘要供大家参考。

二、本课重点： 文章衔接的手段[3]

今天我们来谈谈替代的方法。我们还是先看看下面的例子：
1. My axe is too rusty. I must get a sharper one.
2. You think Samy already knows? I think everybody does.
我们不仅可以替代一个词汇，也可以替代稍微大一点的成分，比如替代一个分词短语、介词短语、动词或动词词组，甚至一个小句或整个句子。如：
3. So the world for these two young men began. For Tom, it was quite a new and fresh world, but it was not quite a new one for Jack.
4. You’ve probably never seen her lose her temper before. But if you find the right trigger, she will do now. And you see the other side of her.
5. She felt she must go when he showed up at the party, and so she said to her friend.
下面是一个简单的句子，能够比较好地说明替代的主要作用，也就是避免重复的作用：
6. Your question is an interesting one.
后面的one替代前面的question，避免了在一个句子里面重复相同的词。

三、值得学习的句子

1. The mummy was once a singer in the Temple of Thebes.
The teacher was once a naughty student too.
Have you ever seen this kind of packing before?
Don’t ever ask this question again!

2. The operation proved to be very difficult.
The project proved to be a difficult one.
These students proved to be the best he had ever had.

3. The doctors have not yet decided how the woman died.
They haven’t decided how the thief got into the building.

四、课后作文练习
