第八十三课 After the election 大选之后

一、摘要写作

1、摘要练习

分别使用快速阅读法、听写法和合并法练习写摘要。

将合并句子写的摘要贴到会员社区。自己根据课文内容，将可以合并的句子合并，去掉一些细节，篇幅争取控制在50字到60字。

2、继续做两句话概括的练习。

用两句概括，请大家自己做。

从第三十一课开始，我不再提供摘要练习的答案。请大家认真做好摘要练习，这是提高表达能力，进而提高写作能力，特别是围绕中心进行写作的好方法。希望大家坚持，我会在会员社区帮大家修改摘要，并且适当做一些讲评，选出比较好的摘要供大家参考。

二、本课重点：文章衔接的手段[10]

我们来看看下面的句子：
1. He may get a raise. He may have a longer vacation. In any case, his boss is not going to let him go.
2. I won’t go anywhere. I don’t have any place to go any way.
3. You may think I am a bad person. Leaving that aside, I am still the only person who understands you.

而下面的句子对前面所说的事情表示进一步的确认，这也是常用的连接方法：
4. He knows about you. Actually he has been watching you all the time.
5. You are not the right person for this position. As a matter of fact, three other persons are better for this position.
6. This book isn’t what I have expected. In fact, it’s rather boring.

三、值得学习的句子

1. Though a little suspicious this time, the policeman gave him the same answer.
Though a little surprised, the man still greeted him with a smile.
Though willing to make a change, he finds it difficult to catch up with others.

2. The day after, Patrick went to the house once more and asked exactly the same question.
The week after, Henry went back to the market once more to look for the man.
He came back and asked exactly(precisely) the same question.
