It is hard to understand a boss or supervisor. The positive qualities and negative ones are often mixed in what we call leadership. However, I must believe there are some reasons behind leadership. In my view, the two outstanding qualities about a boss should be no less than the need to speak more and louder. Right at this moment, no other things occur to my mind about what a good boss or supervisor is made of.

Having more options to deal with an issue seems a quality born with a leader. To achieve that, he or she must talk more than anybody else. Doing more of the talking is a means to an end. The unfailing formula is to present a solo show at any chance. Nowadays, possessing more opinions and idedas means intelligence, if not exactly wisdom. After everything has been said, nobody else can have anything to add or comment. Thus, as usual, the meeting ends. The only decision is made, of course, by the boss alone.

Loudership may prove to be leadership as well. Not only does a boss like to speak more, but also does it louder. The power of thunder cannot be overestimated. A leader with a loud voice always carries weight. It does not so much matter what is said as how it is said. There is usually more sound than sense to it. This being the case, what is essential is the singer, not the song.

As a matter of fact, no boss, not even a good one, must be perfect. The strage thing is that, more often than not, the defects of a boss tend to be ignored. Negative qualities become hidden outside the spotlight where a leader stands alone, larger than life. Such is what I know about a good boss, speaking more and louder ever. And I really do not like to think there are more important qualities than meets the eye.
