Some parents grow their children in strict discipline while others leave them free to learn on their own. Which one of these is a better approach and why? Give your opinion in not less 250 words.

Example writing:

Raising children is rewarding, but not always easy. Every child gets stuck from time to time and every parent faces challenges at some point in the journey of life. The parent-child relationship is often more emotional than rational. It is not only flesh and blood but also the heart which makes parents and children. To be a good father or mother, both emotion and reason must join forces to become patience while bringing up their son or daughter. It is their responsibility to see to it that a child behaves well and learn well. This double responsibility calls for nothing less than constancy.

Children follow examples. They see, hear and imitate. A good parent should make sense of a child's experience and be better equipped to lead the kid through challenging times. Principles of good behavior must be instilled patiently so that children may gradually tell right from wrong. That's why parents should set good examples all the time. The moral influence of father and mother cannot be overestimated. Of course, it takes time before children get acquainted with values in life. And time will prove that children are the impressions of parents in terms of behavior.

It's advisable for a father or mother to keep a patient eye on a child's learning process in school and at home. Because a person's intellectural growth starts at birth, it's never too early to teach kids to learn and keep doing. The benefits of education will come when children grow up. With great patience, parents had better grow their children in strict discipline and not leave them free to learn on their own. Nowadays, much of television and the internet carries adult content and can do more harm than good to children still in immature minds. To avoid that to happen, children should only have limited privacy until they are in their own home. A parent must know how to monitor time for fun and time for serious studies.

In a certain sense, parental patience means loving without spoiling. Parental patience, however, doesn't mean exactly the same thing in every stage of the childhood of a son or a daughter. It's like teaching a baby to walk and talk for 12 months, then for as many years teaching a kid to sit down and shut up. Patience continues on duty, taking care of teen-age problems. How good parents are may depend on whether they think teenagers "have" problems or "are" problems. Only with patience can a parent tell the difference and act accordingly. Otherwise, the result will be bad parenting, which in turn will often ruin adolescents' characters or result in juvenile deliquency.
