In the same boat

Definition: to be in the same unpleasant situation facing the same challenges

这又是一个可以找出汉语对应表达的惯用语，很显然，be in the same boat相当于汉语的“在一条船上”，意思是处境相同，多和all连用成为all in the same boat,例如: These may be difficult times but we're all in the same boat. We can get through it together，这一例句有点同舟共济的味道。和汉语一样，这个惯用语主要用于大家共同面临困难或危险的场合。在团队精神被大力提倡的今天，你可能有更多机会用这个惯用语来表示整个团队需要同心协力来克服困难取得成功，这么说：We can't fight against each other. We need to work together. We're all in the same boat. 这个惯用语后多跟as 表示和谁处于同一境地，例如：If he loses his job he’ll be in the same boat as any other unemployed person.

Example dialog:

A: I'm so busy. I don't know how I will get this done.
我太忙了，不知道怎么才能把它做好。

B. You're not the only one with a lot to do. We're all in the same boat.
