Monica: Uh, Rach, it's the Visa card people.
Rachel: Oh, God, ask them what they want.
Monica: (on phone) Could you please tell me what this is in reference to? (Listens) Yes, hold on. (To Rachel) Um, they say there's been some unusual activity on your account.
Rachel: But I haven't used my card in weeks!
Monica: That is the unusual activity. Look, they just wanna see if you're okay.

莫妮卡：呃，瑞秋，是Visa信用卡公司打来的。
瑞秋：哦，天！问他们想怎样。
莫妮卡：（对着电话）您能告诉我这个电话究竟是跟何事有关呢？（听了听）好，等一下。（对瑞秋说）哦，他们说你的帐户有不寻常的活动。
瑞秋：但我好几个星期没有用过信用卡了！
莫妮卡：那就是不寻常的活动了。哎，他们就想知道你没事。

【世博视角】

因为是信用卡公司来点，莫妮卡说话的时候语气比较正式，句子也“正规”起来，用了in reference to，“关于”，一般口语中只要说about就可以了，所以，这个句子如果是在平时，莫妮卡可能会说：Tell me what this is about. 与原句Could you tell me what this is in reference to?想比较，显然随便多了。与in reference to意思相近的正式说法还有regarding, with regard to等。

这个信用卡公司听上去倒是挺负责的，瑞秋这个客户有一段时间没有使用信用卡消费，就来电询问，而且把这个情况说成是unusual activity，不寻常的活动。其实，这真是这个信用卡公司的聪明之处，关心顾客等于关心自己，顾客如果想平时一样有“寻常的活动”，也就是消费活动，公司也就可以赚钱了。如果一个好动的小孩子突然变得很安静，也可以说是“不寻常的安静”：unusual quietness. 这个情况父母可能马上就会注意到，并且为孩子担心。
