讲故事风俗在美国悄然复兴，让人们体味到交流的乐趣。

The whole crowd listened in silence as the soft American accent（口音、腔调） told the story of a girl forced to grow up when her brother died in the war. Another audience burst into laughter as a tall man spoke about the problems he faced when he started dating his first girlfriend. These tales were told at the National Storytelling Festival, held every October in the US state of Tennessee（田纳西）.

整个人群在默默聆听，一个略带美国口音的声音正轻柔地讲述哥哥在战争中的死亡如何促使妹妹迅速长大的故事。另一群观众爆发出哄堂大笑，原来一位高个男士在描述自己第一次约会的尴尬场面。这些都是美国田纳西州每年10月的国家故事节的场景。

Listening to the stories reminds the audience of their own stories. During breaks（间歇） in the contest（比赛）, people tell their own tales to one another.

1．crowd是个很实用很地道的词，意思是公共场所的“人群”，一群人就可以说a crowd of people，来造个句子：

There was a crowd of people in front of the town hall.
市政大厅前有一群人。

当然，一大堆的东西也可以用a crowd of 来形容，比如有个朋友很懒惰，每次去她家都会看到这样的情形：
I saw a crowd of magazines and papers on her desk.
我看见她桌上放着一堆杂志和报纸。

关于crowd有个常用的习语，follow the crowd，“跟着人群”意思也就是“随大流”，用英文解释就是to always do what other people do, without thinking for yourself，举个例子：
You can say what you want to say, but never follow the crowd.
你想说什么就说什么，只是别人云亦云。

2．remind是及物动词，意思是“提醒;使想起,使记起”，如：
The story reminds me of an experience I once had.
这个故事使我想起我的一次亲身经历。

大家可能注意到了，remind经常与介词of搭配使用，而remind sb. of sth.意思就是“使某人回想起某事”，如：
This hotel reminds me of the one we stayed in last year.
这家旅馆使我想起去年我们住过的那一家。

【世博句型留言板】

今天我们要来学的句型是burst into，表示突然从一种状态进入另一种状态。

burst是“冲、闯”的意思，burst into的愿意就是“闯入；匆忙进入”，比如：
He burst into the room.
他闯入了房间。

当我们的情绪发生变化时，那种感觉就像某种感情突然闯进心房，一下子把我们控制，所以也可以用burst into来表示，后面接名词。

比如She burst into tears（她突然哭了起来），把tears换掉，变成laughter，意思就刚好相反，成了She burst into laughter. 她突然笑了起来。

*友情提示：
如果要详细说明为什么而发生这样的变化，就要用介词at来引导，比如：
She burst into laughter at the exciting news.
听了这令人兴奋的消息，她突然笑了起来。
