hindsight是「事后看某件事」。在事情发生后，你可以轻松指出当初要是能做某个决定，就能使事情变得圆满，那是因为你已经知道事情的后续发展。说这句话时，通常有认为对方活该的意味。

A: If I'd just passed the ball to Dave, we might have won the game.
如果我把球传给戴夫，我们就有可能赢球了！

B: That's the beauty of hindsight. Let it go. It's over now.
那是后见之明。让这件事过去吧。已经结束了。

2. put A in good stead with B　让A讨好B

put A in good stead with B字面上的意思是，将A（某人、物）放到让B（通常是某人）喜欢的位置，其实就是「让A讨好B」的意思。
